A tranquil meditation centre
in the heart of the Welsh countryside.
Maenllwyd has been a buddhist retreat for forty years and is the ideal environment for intensive meditation practice.

The traditional stone-built farmhouse
has been a centre for group and solitary
Buddhist practice since 1972.

The Chan Hall is a warm and
welcoming space for meditation practice.

The cabin has a wood burning stove and is perfect for solo meditation retreats.
We accept bookings for Buddhist retreats and yoga courses.

This meditation retreat introduces the practice of calm abiding and clear seeing, known in Tibetan as Shi‑ne, and Lha‑tong. Cultivating compassionate presence with support of the Sadhana of Chenrezig, Bodhisattva of compassion, joy and confidence are embodied through exploration of the energy yogas of Guru Rinpoche. Our guiding aspiration throughout the retreat is that practice may be of lasting benefit to each and every being.
This retreat is open to beginners and experienced meditators equally. Please contact sophie@gearmill.org or see more information here.
